My director I work with is causious about using Pyrethrums. Could it act on the insects reared in the insectary that use the plants?
Thank you for your comments and help. Very helpful to be sure. I like the idea of the ESA meeting next year. I will be there if I have to hitch hike. Take care. Patty
I love my distance classes and really appreciate the instructors efforts. Mentors would be especially welcome where a student could gain practical or field experience or by learning how to use lab equipment and software for projects. It would be great to link a class with an expert in or a professional near a distance students location. The student may be the person to locate such a person but would be coordinated through the online instructor as to what the student should know about the job, research or experiences of the mentor. Perhaps a grad student from a university would demonstrate the how to do its. Researchers in the field might offer to take a distance student along on their gathering trips or more folks could offer something like the Scarab Course (Dr. Ratcliff, etc.) in Jan.
Also I have a request: I need information for an independent study program. Trying to find insectary people that raise plants in a greenhouse for reared insects. Also what treatments they use to control pests that will not contaminate the insectary cultures. Thanks, Patty
